Continuing studies are courses that are offered to people who want to continue their education or training in a certain field. This type of education is offered at the undergraduate level as well as the graduate level. Some of the courses that are offered at this level include a course in Continuing Medical Education, a course in Continuing Studies Flex Online, and a course in Continuing Studies Summer Session.
Continuing Medical Education
Continuing Medical Education (CME) is an important aspect of postgraduate education. It is required by most states for physicians to maintain their licenses. CME activities are certified by externally accredited organizations, such as the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). ACCME accreditation is a way for CME providers to show that they have met certain standards of quality and effectiveness.
Stanford Continuing Medical Education provides educational activities that are designed to improve physicians’ skills and performance. Stanford’s Continuing Medical Education activities are based on best scientific evidence available.
In addition to offering a wide variety of CME activities, Stanford Continuing Medical Education certifies its own continuing medical education materials. These materials must be free of commercial advertising, brand names, and other marketing efforts. These materials must also avoid confusing and misleading the learner.
